2. Postnatal Support and Follow Up

Undersupply &/or Oversupply affects many new mums but can be quickly managed with early intervention.

Expressing is a great for including partner’s in the feeding, building up supply, and storing breastmilk.

Reflux & Colic is distressing for baby and parents. Many strategies are available to help with these issues.

Settling issues & techniques often go hand in hand with feeding, & early assessment of feeding can resolve many concerns related to settling.

In hospital visits

3. Women who have/had

Breast Reduction does not prevent a woman from breastfeeding with many strategies available to support mum and baby breastfeed successfully.

Mammoplasty

Raynaud’s Syndrome (vasospasm)
more commonly found with breastfeeding women than is realised. Painless breastfeeding is possible when you understand how you manage this problem while breastfeeding.

Twins
can seem daunting to breastfeed but with some planning before their births you will be well under way to be organized and ready for their homecoming.

4. Great Ideas!

Gift Vouchers
Want to give a really valuable and useful gift to your girlfriend/work colleague who is having a baby? Then a breastfeeding help voucher/s could be just the idea! The voucher can be used to help your friend learn about breastfeeding before the baby's birth, or used afterwards to help her with breastfeeding or settling issues. Mum and mother-in-law - it's a great gift that offers support to your daughter or daugther-in-law without appearing to be interfering!

Mother's group/playgroups

Lynne is available for presentations and question and answer sessions. You can book her for one session or ask her to present a series of topics for as many weekly sessions as you need. Lynne offers a holistic approach to supporting breastfeeding and fully supports the research findings that antenatal education is especially beneficial in helping women successfully breastfeed. Similarly, research also shows women will successfully feed longer if they see a lactation consultant with breastfeeding problems in the early days and weeks of breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding is like learning to drive a car, no one expects a new mother to know everything about breastfeeding and settling their baby within the first 1 to 3 weeks.

Lynne can help treat and resolve issues related to sore nipples, painful breastfeeding, concerns about supply, settling and sleeping very early before they become problems and anxieties. Often one visit is all that is needed. A follow up visit is only required if absolutely needed or by request from the mother & or partner.
